Michael T. Stevenson is the Sr. Director of IT Operations based in Seattle, bringing over 25 years of IT leadership experience across some of the world’s most innovative companies. In his current role, Michael is responsible for driving strategic IT planning aligned with organizational goals, with a strong focus on scalability, security, and operational efficiency. He leads high-performing teams, manages complex budgets and resources, champions emerging technologies, and ensures enterprise-wide compliance and risk mitigation.
Prior to this role, Michael held leadership positions at Amazon, Verizon Wireless, and Peloton (Precor). Most recently, he led IT Support and Infrastructure for Amazon’s Physical Stores and Just Walk Out technology, overseeing a team of 30+ across multiple locations. His leadership resulted in a 25% improvement in system efficiency, a 20% decrease in incident response times, and a 40% reduction in infrastructure costs through AWS cloud migration.
Michael is also recognized for his leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. At Amazon, he spearheaded internal campaigns to strengthen employee engagement and belonging, organizing recurring team discussions and cultural events. He also led outreach efforts to national conferences, where he facilitated mentorship programs and hiring events, helping expand talent pipelines and elevate underrepresented voices in tech.
He holds multiple industry certifications, including Microsoft, Cisco, and CompTIA, and has successfully led numerous cybersecurity and disaster recovery initiatives—achieving 99.9% system uptime and a 40% drop in security incidents.
Outside of work, Michael is a proud husband to Nicole and dad to Savannah and Maddy. He’s an avid traveler, Disney superfan, and pop culture enthusiast who enjoys anime conventions, Comic-Cons, and spending time with their four Shih Tzus—Logan, Bella, Briar Rose, and Maleficent.
