With over 26 years of experience in commodity trading, sourcing, and risk management at Cargill—a company with 160,000 employees world’s leading commodity companies—Martijn Bron is a recognized expert in navigating the complexities of global commodity markets. His expertise spans sourcing, processing, trading, and financial risk management across raw materials and (semi-)finished products. He is a renowned expert on the cocoa and chocolate industry. In his time at Cargill, Martijn led the adoption of the company’s bespoke trading technology, served as Global Head of Trading Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate, and held multiple roles as a trader and sourcing manager for grains, seeds, cocoa and chocolate.

In 2023, he launched an independent consulting practice, providing specialized services as an advisory to commodity companies to help with recruitment, trading, and risk management. Committed to education and thought leadership, Bron has been recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice, sharing insights on commodities, investing, trading, financial markets, and the economy. He has also served as a guest panelist at IFSA Rotterdam and co-hosts "Strong Source," a podcast dedicated to the commodities industry. Additionally, he authors the bi-weekly cocoa market report for Vesper, a leading commodity intelligence platform. Bron holds a master’s in economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
