Faran Sikandar

Staff Software Engineer

Faran is a Staff Software Engineer in the San Francisco office. For more than a decade before joining Keystone, he worked at the intersection of machine learning, economics, and strategy—helping businesses, governments, and non-profits harness data to scale their impact. At fintech startup Revolut and climate-risk insurtech Kettle, he led interdisciplinary teams that drove multi-fold revenue growth through applied machine learning—developing systems for forecasting, portfolio modeling, recommender engines, customer segmentation, anomaly detection, experimentation, and AI/ML interpretability. More recently, he has helped organizations apply Generative AI to launch new products in healthcare, coaching, and other domains. Faran is invested in building technical capacity across the private, public, and social sectors. He co-founded the City and County of San Francisco’s Data Academy, which has trained hundreds of public servants in data analysis and visualization, and co-founded Rah-e-Maa, a non-profit developing technology to reduce maternal mortality in Pakistan.

Outside of Keystone, Faran is a lifelong writer and athlete—an avid basketball player with goals to climb big mountains, surf big waves, and gather good stories wherever he can.
